Thinking About Play
We have an inner play-instinct that drives us to create, to figure things out, to come up with new combinations. That play-instinct is universal. Drawn into a way of engaging with our world that is neither predictable nor consciously driven, we may suddenly stumble upon realizations, and must sometimes wait for light to dawn. At times we may do that alone, and at times we may find the therapeutic space provides the environment we need to wait for the light, see the clue, make the creative leap into the unknowing, and the knowing.
